Favorite recipes - Sweet Potato Casserole
This recipe is grandpa's most requested dish for family turkey dinners. I am finally sharing the recipe. I prefer the potatoes with the dark orange flesh. I think those are usually sold as yams. Change and experiment with the recipe as much as you want.
Skin the potatoes and boil them for about 10 minutes, just until the start to soften.
Mix topping mixture together in large bowl. Stir cooked potato chunks into bowl. Sometimes I mash and stir a few chunks of the potatoes.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/3 cup flour

1/2 cup milk or other liquid (water, juice)

3 tablespoons butter, softened

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 dollop of molasses

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

mini marshmallows
Pour it all into casserole dish.
Save some extra marshmallows and topping to spread on the top
Bake at 325 for 1/2 hour. Watch for the marshmallows on top to get golden brown.
